Data:
Data is a general term used to refer to raw – facts, numbers, letters and symbols representing an idea which is to be processed either manually or by a computer or communication system to produce information.
Information:
Information is the result of analysed or processed data that is now meaningful and decision can be made based on it. Data and information can be connected by a block diagram shown below:
 DATA=======>PROCESSING======>INFORMATION

The Need for Data Processing:
Data Processing is the general term that stands for all manipulation of data to generate information, storage and subsequent retrieval.

Why Data Processing?
1.     To generate information so that decision can be made on it.
2.     To keep track of records.
3.     To check fraud.
4.     To enhance efficiency and accuracy of records.

5.     To enhance adequate and efficient storage and retrieval
